I've got my eye on the Arez mod, but every review i've seen seems to complain about being underpowered.

Is there any plans to custom FW the niggles out of it?

    Hello!
Currently, we have no info on MCU used in this mod. Any help will be appreciated.

@richierich, thank you, I'm sorry, but no. There is no MCU side, and it would be helpful to get a real shots of the both sides of the PCB, because the assembly drawing of the MCU side of the PCB with some rectangle marked with "QFN48" or something else will mean notning :)

Everybody wants free high quality firmware but no one is willing to disassemble a mod to help expand the firmware's project. I have no use for this mod personally, therefore i don't own it. But if I had it I would disassemble it and take pics of the PCB for the sake of the AF project! No question! You aren't going to break a mod by disassembling it, you just have to take care. I've disassembled dozens of mods to fix buttons, replace 510 connectors etc. Or just out of plain curiosity! Not a big deal, especially considering you could be helping a project that is FREE to you and helps others. SMFH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cut back on the anger dude

I don't have the mod, I was contemplating buying one, but so far, I've had no one come forward to offer opening up theirs.

Unfortunately, Arez is built with STM32G031G8U with 64K flash and without USB.
So, lite version is possible: VariWatt / VariVolt modes, no menus, no profiles. Flashing is possible with ST-Link programmer (with disassembly etc.) only.

Are the custom FW files available for those of us willing to do the necessary steps?

    Hello!
Firmware is attached, flash it with STM32CubeProgrammer or ST-Link Utility at default address 0x08000000.
After replacing the battery click Fire button once to power the mod on.
SWD interface pads are located under display. Please be careful while removing display holder from PCB, it is glued and there are a lot of SMD components near its legs.
