Would be awesome if I could run my rx200 in dual battery mode
AFAIK the Rx200 is wired up in a way that its not possible for it to work with only 2 batteries.
Nothing prevents to try 170721
Wow. Maelstrom2001, would it be theoretically possible for a hobbyist with a little bit of a crazy streak to use that extra space for a dangerously large capacitor, and actually turn one of these devices into a powerful, even potentially lethal stun gun? I would personally hate to see this happen, it seems like it would be bad for all vapers, but given that there are already plenty of videos showing how to turn a disposable camera flash cap into a very unsafe type of DC stun gun, I am almost waiting for a headline about school kids making some kind of game out of dueling with deadly ecigs or something...
@Rassledazz Why do you have such strange suspicions? Perhaps our friend just want to upgrade RX to squonk. Think positive (c)
Oh nonono I did not mean to imply any such thing, and I apologize to Cloudasaurus if my post came off as accusatory. Especially based on his handle, I think he only wants to puff like the rest of us
I ask this in general, because of the amount of power the industrial batteries have put into the hands of millions of vapers. Not that $9 stun guns aren't already easy to get, but they aren't deadly, so I've been a little scared that someone would release a simple video or something that could turn the public against our favorite toys. Hopefully it never happens, but I thought I would ask your opinion about the possibility.
I tried 1770721 firmware on rx200 and didn't work anymore, allways "check battery"
yes i had shunted a balance wire
Oops, yes, forgot to add a condition to this check. Thanks!
Just tried, and allways "check battery"
How are the battery voltages displayed? Look at the main menu -> Info
ok, i found a new nfetool
Are voltages displayed correctly if you install all 3 cells? I'm asking because switching to dual battery mode is based on voltages reading (sincerely your Captain Obvious ). If box see voltage above 2.50 volts on cell 1 and cell 2, and less than 0.20 volts on cell 3, it should run as RX2/3 in dual battery configuration. In your case voltage on cell 1 is reading overestimated, and cell 2 measured < 2.50 volts. The box does not understand what it should to do, and it stays in 3 cells mode.
The sum of cells voltages seems to be correct, so we can assume that ADC 2 (battery 1 + battery 2) working properly. But result of measuring on ADC 1 (the first battery) is totally messed.
Maybe it is the answer why it is not enough to short the third battery holder as it can be done with RX200S?
ok, i tried with 3 cells and here is the result :
same battery but the one more (allways the 3 cells in this mod)
Thanks so much @maelstrom2001 really appreciate it. Yes I wanted this for rx200 squonker project I always wanted to do. Will flash it tonight and give feedback. Thanks
Can confirm that this firmware is working perfectly in 2 battery mode with the 3rd battery bay bridged out. thanks so much @maelstrom2001 can finally do the squonker conversion. thanks
Thanks for testing and response, will add modifications to main branch (nightly >= 170801)
question: i updated my rx200 to latest nightly build, how i enter dual battery mode? if i remove one battery and try to start up, it doesn't turn on. And, why i should run this mod with 2 batteries instead of 3? thanks =)
Some people like removing one battery so they can do a squonk conversion
