Hello! Suddenly I think, the best solution is to shorten here: P. S. Please first make backup of the firmware, cause it may be different from previous hardware version provided here. P. P. S. Ordered Thelema Quest, so hope to expand support in the future It's looks promising.
interesting, this is grus with quest 2 user interface ya? nice component placement hehe i love more symmetrical layout, charging circuit little bit different with little inductor, i hope still fast for charging, and additional storage memory. i think next i will buy lost vape cyborg yes i know its similar hardware with grus but the model is unique hehe, 1 cell mod with buck-boost converter, maybe nfeteam will porting the firmware? hehe i feel quest 2 faster firing response, its not preheat, maybe some day i will test with osciloscope for comparison.
I ran into some problems too. I used first a USB 2.0 port at the front of my PC and other AF mods where detected at this port. However the Grus and Ursa where only detected in the Device Manger as ~"Unknown Device" and with the plug 180 degrees turned not recognized at all. After 3 1/2 month waiting for other USB-C plugs I had the exact same problem. Here is how I was able to solve it: I used a USB 2.0 hub to connect the modified USB cable and suddenly Windows picked up the "STM Device in DFU mode" and I was able to flash the Grus (V1) and Ursa: @maelstrom2001 Thank you for all your work <3 EDIT: I have a Asrock Z170 Fatal1y K6 Gaming, which has no USB 2.0 Ports at the back I/O panal and only 2 USB 2.0 at the front. These did not pick up the Grus or Ursa in DFU Mode. Connected to the USB 2.0 Hub to a USB 3.0 port at the back I/O panal it worked
Maybe I definitely don't want to buy it, so if you buy it, I'll need your help to get the OEM firmware from it.
GRUS (only mod) I ordered in sourcemore.com 14.09.21. The parcel arrived in Russia in3 weeks. While I'm waiting for USB-hub 2.0, just like the laptop has only 3.0. The cable has already been soldered. First I'll make a backup firmware. How will the result be (or won't be)- I will definitely subscribe here.
I flash it without adapter - I soldered the wires directly to the connector pins on the board. Also I using USB 3.0 port, because USB 2.0 for some reason did not define device, so USB 3.0 ports also works well. Мне пришел с FastTech'a за 3.5 недели. Все нормально работает с USB 3.0, не надо никакой хаб дополнительно покупать.
Hi Sergey, In the pictture you posted the B+ cable was in front of the version number. Just out of interest, do you have an other photo where the number is visible or do you remember that? Just out of interest. I compared the 2 different Grus PCBs (above something maelstrom2001 posted, below your pic) : Hi MicRoN, I am happy that it worked with you. However in my case with a Z170 mainboard, no on board USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports worked. By chance I found out that only with a USB 2.0 hub (a really old one) the Grus or Ursa where found by Windows as STM device in DFU Mode. All my other AF mods and my OrangePi where found on the on board USB Ports. Would you mind to say what mainboard you have?
I am using Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 with Z170 chipset. I think the USB 2.0 port didn't work because it has thinner and longer wires from the outer panel to the motherboard. Also I also use a 3m cut-off USB 2.0 extension cord to the box mainboard.
Hello everyone, I want to make you happy. The firmware and bootloader for URSA are great for Cyborg. Moreover, the board in Cyborg is exactly the same as with URSA. I will leave here a dump of the original Cyborg. Small remarks: The brightness is not adjustable, (this also applies to URSA), moreover, I'm not sure, but I think that the default brightness is 80% not liked by the displays, I burned the display of URSA with Arctic Fox on one week of use. I repeat! - I'm not sure, just in case reduce the brightness to 0%. The URSA sign will appear in NFEtools for obvious reasons
Yep My issue for the review comes late, after a few more days. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do - I think it will be successful - the CPU is the same.
Great news, so mealstrom can rename the Thread name and add Cyborg/Cygnus (sold as that in DE) Did you manage to get a replacement, and if so where did you get it, if you don't mind? Yeah, I cannot wait
Weee, thank you for info, hopes have been justified! Looking for your review. I won't take it up very soon, but the support there will be definitely.
Oh could you test if the USB-C cable from the set would find the Board in DFU Mode? The Cable from my Ursa Quest did and has D+ and D- to CC1 and CC2.
@TinaEire, the cable from Thelema set have no data lines (at least, on CC1 and CC2). It looks exactly like cables from my early Grus and Ursa, and both of them are not detected with this cable. So, it seems that the custom cable is back on the case
