Hi, yesterday I had this issue: I changed the battery and my box (evic primo mini) lost all its settings and completely reset to default values of Arcticfox Fw. Luckily I had made a backup before, but what could have caused this?
Hi, You are lucky ^^. I can assume why this happened. You managed to pull out the battery between the erasing of memory and its write.
Is there a designated 'safe' time to pull the battery? I always click a few times to turn them off before I remove the battery cover; would be a pain if this happened when out and about.
Yes, it is about 10 sec in standby. Any changes in settings you made (including profile) will be saved after 5 sec since last change, counters are stored after 8 seconds of inactivity after last puff. So after 10 sec of inactivity all changes in dataflash are made guaranteed and correctly, and it is safe to power off box. Critical times are 5 and 8 seconds since last regulation/puff, so there is a possibility that if you turn off the box at the time the dataflash is written, the data will be corrupted, which will result in resetting settings to defaults.
In all the time I've been using AF I've never had a wipe occur, but I hear about it happening all the time (with SMOK devices!!! ) First I've heard on AF or joyetech/eleaf/wismec devices though. It did make me wonder if AF used some kind of error control to make it less rare, like fall back to previous page's data if current is corrupt (simple crc16 or similar).
Hi all, got the same problem today on eVic Primo Mini (HW 1.00). Used v.170603 all the time and everything was OK, but yesterday I've updated into 170819 - worked well until the battery was changed: - The settings have been reset - When connected to a computer for re-config, I saw that the HW version is wrong - In updater HW ver is -0.0 - Tried safe mode - nothing was changed Can I set the HW version by hands, Or maybe I should do something to completely reset all data? P.S.: The mod is working normally.
Yes, you can change HW Version manually. NToolbox -> FIrmware Updater -> Advanced -> Change HW Version. Russian localized screenshot.
